The September meeting of the Fostoria Coin Club was called to order on September 16th, 2024, at 7:30pm by President Brandeberry, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 27 members present.
There were no members on the sick list. The minutes and treasury reports were reviewed and approved as read.
OLD BUSINESS:
Dave recapped his trip to Chicago where he represented the club at the ANA World of Money Show. The club thanked Dave for his work.
Gary announced that our club had two raffle winners at the CONA show from the raffle tickets he sold – Tom and himself.
Chuck gave the Fostoria Historical Society some of the club's wooden nickles for the two museums in town. There is a display for the coin club at the museum.
SHOW BUSINESS:
Vic generously donated 6 raffle prizes to the club. We are still looking for 4 more, and members are encouraged to present any items to Vini for consideration.
Vini and Bob attended the auction at Cole's and secured several items for the club's use:
Teal table cloths, 6' tables, metal chairs, and a PA system
The total invested was $218 which Vini paid out of pocket. Chuck made a motion that the club reimburse Vini for the $218. Bob seconded the motion, and the club voted unanimously in agreement. This will not show as a show expense but as an office expense for accounting purposes. It was discussed that the chairs/tables will require markings to differentiate them from the ones we will borrow later.
NEW BUSINESS:
ANA fee is due, $75, and the club receives a $5 discount for each member that also has an ANA membership.
Gary reported the website is up to date.
President Brandeberry presented a Lifetime Membership Award to Vini for recognition of all his work with the club and show.
For 2025, Vini offered to pay for all new members' dues.
Red Books are still available at cost, $12.
Harry and Gary made a motion and second to adjourn.
